How does Syllabus to Calendar work?

Upload your syllabus as a PDF and we read it for you. We pull out your class meeting times, assignment due dates, exam dates and grading breakdown, show you everything for review, and then push the dates you approve straight into your Google Calendar.

Do I have to check the dates myself?

Yes, and we recommend it. Nothing is written to your calendar until you have looked over the parsed schedule and confirmed it. Every date, time and title is editable on the review screen before anything syncs.

Which calendar apps are supported?

Google Calendar is supported today. Because Apple Calendar and Outlook can both subscribe to a Google Calendar, your synced deadlines will show up there as well once you add the calendar to those apps.

What file types can I upload?

PDF syllabi work best, since that is how most professors distribute them. If your syllabus is a web page or a document, exporting it to PDF first gives the most accurate results.

Is Syllabus to Calendar free?

Yes. Creating an account and syncing your classes is free. There is a limit on how many syllabi you can parse per semester, which is shown in the app so you always know where you stand.

What happens to my syllabus after I upload it?

Your files and extracted class data are stored against your account so you can come back to them later, and they are only ever used to provide the service to you. You can read the full details in our Privacy Policy.
